“i just wanted to finish the process which was started. i don’t want to say who i voted for. i just wanted ink on my finger.” –Judith, 65

6-term president mugabe was the only candidate on the ballot. members of the opposition have been intimidated, brutalized & killed and its leader has since retreated. many in rural zimbabwe showed up to vote just so they could have the tell-tale red ink mark on their finger- a sign that they participated in the sham election. a sign that would hopefully prevent local ruling party thugs from beating, torturing or killing them.
